Before I head out, I wanted to send out a challenge for tonight. Whoever sends me the best fireworks shot from their camera will receive a half- price location session that has to be redeemed by September 15, 2010. So... put those cameras on manual and mount them on a tripod tonight! You need to use a shutter release cable to get the slowest shutter release time and to prevent camera shake; however, you can also pick up a piece of black foam board at your local grocery, craft, or pharmacy to do the trick. If you have a shutter release cable, it has instructions with it, so I'll only give instructions for those who don't have one. You will need to set your shutter speed to a long exposure time (you may need to read your manual). Put the black foam board in front of your lens, press the shutter to begin, move the foam board, and then press the shutter again to finish the exposure. Either way, you need to mount your camera on a tripod. You should get great streams of light by doing this! E-mail entries to stacymariegallery@gmail.com. You must be a fan to enter this contest! Happy 4th to all!
